PORT 1 · PUDUCHERRY

Puducherry

Chief Minister N. Rangasamy flags off the expedition · 27 July 2026

A five-day sea adventure expedition for National Cadet Corps (NCC) students from Puducherry to Chennai was flagged off today by Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, marking the commencement of an expedition aimed at fostering courage, discipline and the spirit of adventure among young cadets.

A total of 21 NCC students, travelling in three boats, embarked on the expedition from Puducherry and proceeded towards Chennai by sea. The expedition provides the cadets an opportunity to experience the challenges of the maritime environment while developing confidence and resilience.

As part of the expedition, the cadets are participating in various adventure activities designed to strengthen essential qualities such as courage, discipline, teamwork and leadership. The programme seeks to equip young cadets with practical experience and the ability to face challenges with determination and a strong sense of responsibility.

The participating NCC students expressed their enthusiasm and pride in being part of the expedition. They shared that the experience would provide valuable lessons and memories that would contribute to their personal growth and future endeavours.

The event was attended by Legislative Assembly Speaker A. Anbalagan, MLA C. Ayyappan (alias Mottaiyappan), DDG NCC TN, P & AN Commodore Nambiath Sudeep, Puducherry NCC Group Commander Ashish Tiwari, and several NCC officers.

PORT 2 · RAMESHWARAM

Rameshwaram

Rameswaram–Dhanushkodi sailing expedition · 28 August 2026

Twenty Naval Wing NCC cadets successfully completed a sailing expedition from Rameswaram Port to Dhanushkodi on Friday as part of the Rameswaram leg of the All-Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Sea Trip.

The expedition was inaugurated by Commander Sudeep Nambiat, Deputy Director General, Directorate of NCC, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andaman, at the Rameswaram fishing base.

A total of 20 cadets, including 10 each from 2 (TN) Naval Wing NCC, Madurai, and 5 (TN) Naval Wing NCC, Cuddalore, participated in the expedition. The cadets undertook the designated sea route in two sailboats, successfully completing the journey.

The successful completion of the expedition marked another milestone in the All-Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Sea Trip, reinforcing the NCC’s commitment to developing maritime skills, adventure spirit and teamwork among young cadets.

PORT 3 · KANYAKUMARI

Kanyakumari

Chinnamutom to Kanniyakumari · Tiranga at the Southern Tip

The Ocean Sailing Expedition from Chinnamutom to Kanniyakumari was undertaken by the NCC cadets of TNPAN, marking yet another demonstration of courage, discipline and collective endeavour. Commodore Sudeep Nambiath flagged off the expedition and, along with Col VKS Chauhan, motivated the cadets to push beyond their limits on the open sea.

The voyage concluded at the iconic Vivekananda Rock, where the cadets performed a Tiranga display — unfurling the national tricolour against the backdrop of the confluence of three seas — in a moving tribute to the spirit of the nation.

On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, the voyagers hoisted the National Flag at Gandhi Mandapam, Kanniyakumari, paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and reaffirming the NCC’s commitment to the values of unity, discipline and service to the nation.

PORT 4 · THOOTHUKUDI

Thoothukudi

Pearl-city port

The sail casted off from Muthunagar Beach into the Tuticorin Bay. The voyagers also visited the Porunai Museum, Tirunelveli showcasing Korkai's legacy as an ancient port- a fascinating window into Tamil Nadu's maritime past.
